If you're anything like us, sometimes you find it hard to relax. But, here's the best things you can do when staying at this awesome cabin.
Stargaze by the warmth of the fire pit, take a long walk adventure around Odell Lake, dominate your friends at corn hole or Super Nintendo Mario Kart, work your brain with a puzzle, cook amazing meals for your family, (be lame) and hop on a Zoom meeting from the workspace, take a 20 min drive to check out downtown Flagstaff, hike/ski/snowboard at Snowbowl, or the best thing of all... have no plan and truly relax.

The winter months in Munds Park are notorious for crazy snow. We require a 4x4 vehicle for anybody traveling from December to March. The cabin is at the top of a steep hill and the driveway is even steeper. We will not refund or be available to assist if you get stuck and did not travel via 4x4 during these months.
If you do not have a 4x4, it's easy and not very expensive to rent one through a local Phoenician through Turo. It's a car sharing app similar to Airbnb and you can find a pretty epic ride for a really great price. It definitely beats renting through a rental car agency!

TIPS ON DRIVING UP HERE IN WINTER
There is ample room for 4 vehicles to park in the "V" driveway at the cabin. There is no parking on the street from Nov 1st to April 1 due to snow plowing. There is an ordinance via the city of Flagstaff and you will get fined if you do. The ticket is always more than $200 and if it is snowing and they need to plow, they will also tow your vehicle if is parked on the street during this time.
The holiday lights are on timers and will turn off between the estimated hours of 11pm and 6am. Please do not adjust the timers or unplug them. Rather enjoy the warm glow!
The entire cabin is yours for an amazing getaway with the exception of the hall closet on the second floor and two cabinets in the kitchen. The hall closet is all additional cleaning stuff for us to prep for the next guests (BORING) and the kitchen cabinets are our own items we leave (we love to come and enjoy the space too)! Feel free to use everything else that you see!
Please watch video if you do not know how to use the pellet stove. Please turn the stove off any time you leave the cabin and prior to checking out.
If you run out of pellets from the stove and the black bin next to it, there are more pellets under the front deck stairway.
We do not guarantee that the pellet stove will be functional during your stay... she's got a bit of a mind of her own.
It's a pay it forward kind of deal! We will keep the large tanks for the BBQ grill and the Fire pit here on property and if there's gas in them, hoorah! And if not, you can swap them at the gas station before you hit the I-17. The small, table fire pit on the front deck uses 16oz tanks. You will be responsible for bringing those up (they're about $4 each at Target or Walmart). You may get lucky and arrive to a small tank that somebody left!
We do not allow wood fires or fire pits on the property.
The TVs in the living area and the loft are smart TVs. You are welcome to log into your own streaming accounts. The downstairs and second floor bedrooms both have FireSticks. You are welcome to log into your own accounts there as well. Just make sure you log out of everything before heading out!
There's tons of ways to entertain your crew while you're here! There are games, movies and video games in the chest behind the couch. Be careful though. The lid closes fast and fingers are usually the victims.
There are also bins on each side of the front door full of puzzles and small children's toys.
In the loft there is a Super Nintendo and bean bags.
On the deck you will see two boards for corn hole. The bags and other outdoor fun are in the metal table next to the couch. The lid pops off with a little force. Please be sure to replace them when finished.
All DVDs and Blu-Rays can be watch on the PS3. There is an additional "traditional" DVD player style remote to make the process easier. Feel free to use either the game controllers (as shown in the video below) or the traditional style remote to navigate.
To get back to the main TV menu simply hit the button that looks like a home on the TV remote (the one that has the Netflix button on it).
There are blankets basically everywhere you look... and they're cozy. There is also a cot under the bed on the second floor. Sheets, comforter and pillows for that bed are in the red cabinet in the same room.
All of the candles that you see are battery operated and on timers. If any batteries go out, you can find them in the basket to the side of the front door.
Please take your bagged trash to the appropriate trash bins outside prior to leaving the cabin. If you are staying on a Sunday, you must take the large bins down to the street for Monday early morning pickup.
The back deck is not enclosed, thus creates a hazard for small children. Please keep an eye on them as we will not be responsible for injury.
The loft has a ladder that can be hazardous if not careful. Please watch small children and be careful when using as we will not be responsible for injury.
We understand that it gets muddy out there in the woods! For any type of spill, mud, etc that needs cleaning, please use the cleaning rags on the first floor near the kitchen. If bathroom towels are used and damaged you will be assessed a replacement fee.
Hey! You're up in the woods and it's snowing! Awesome! In order to clear the drive, you can find a shovel underneath the deck in the front and there will always be melt to use there as well.
During heavy snow we will have the driveway plowed to ensure entry and exit to the property. It takes some time, though, so patience is key! The city plow sometimes comes a bit late and the local plow guys have to wait for them.
This is an awesome little cozy town. With that being said, there are only a handful of restaurants and their hours of operation vary based on the time of year. I would definitely call ahead to see if they are open before heading over.
Some highlights: We LOVE Boraccho. Small little A-frame bar with a taco truck outside. They do live music on the weekends until it gets too cold. Pinewood Bar & Grill does a great pizza night.
Here's a quick resource for the dining options.
THERE ARE NO GROCERY STORES IN MUNDS PARK. The closest is in Flagstaff after a quick 20 minute drive. There is a service that delivers food and essentials until midnight, but it is not always available. They deliver quick, easy eats and snacks as well as fire wood and other items.
